    About the Grant

There are many students and volunteers who would welcome an opportunity to participate in Destination Imagination. They simply need basic support for establishing teams.

The organization that brings you Destination Imagination in Tennessee is proud to again offer its Tennessee START A TEAM Grant Program. Tennessee Association, Inc., a non-profit organization, will award grants to schools and other organizations to support creation of Destination Imagination teams. We believe the grant program, along with the national START A TEAM initiative, will help bring the benefits of Destination Imagination participation to hundreds more Tennesseans. The Tennessee DI Board of Directors has renewed the grant program for the 2020-2021 season!

    Details and Application

    DOWNLOAD: 2020-2021 Grant Packet

Applying is easy! There are but four steps: (1) devise a Start a Team Plan; (2) a statement/justification of need; (3) the application form itself; and (4) a final report, submitted after your team’s last tournament. The team will be asked to develop a START A TEAM PLAN, which will pertain to team composition and recruitment and budgeting.

If you have questions not addressed in the application packet, feel free to email Tennessee’s START A TEAM team, composed of Tennessee DI Board of Directors members across the state! You can email them at StartATeamGrant@tennesseedi.org. We are committed to putting 21st century skills, creative problem-solving, the creative process, project management skills, and lifelong curiosity in STEAM within reach of all Tennessee’s kids, regardless of economic circumstances.

The Grant application deadline is midnight Central Time, December 31, 2020. Apply now!

Remember, after you review the PDF document linked above, you must apply for the grant online. Email your application to StartATeamGrant@tennesseedi.org to submit your application when you are ready. Remember, the grant must be submitted online by December 31, 2020; do not wait until the last minute!
